WorldatWork's workspan Named a Finalist for EXCEL Award

Monthly Magazine Recognized for Election Coverage

June 21, 2017 — WASHINGTON, D.C. — WorldatWork's monthly magazine, workspan, is a finalist in Association Media & Publishing's annual EXCEL Awards, which recognize the best and brightest in association media and publishing. WorldatWork is being honored in the Magazines: Feature Article Design (10,001-20,000 circulation) category for its November cover story, "2016 Election: What's at Stake for Total Rewards."

WorldatWork is proud to be honored among other leaders in association media and publishing. There are 235 finalists from nearly 830 entries.

The workspan cover story for the November issue was created to provide a vivid election feel while remaining politically neutral. It includes custom flag-inspired graphics to promote WorldatWork's election guide and explains how key issues related to the work of HR practitioners may be affected by the election. The issue was delivered five days before election day and has received high praise from many of WorldatWork's members.

"We are very honored to be selected as one of two finalists in our category for this prestigious award," said Cara Woodson Welch, vice president, External Affairs & Practice Leadership, WorldatWork. "The credit goes to our design team, editors and writers who helped produce this remarkable story about a very unusual presidential election and how it could impact total rewards, both for the practitioner and for employees at every company around the country."

"We are excited to honor outstanding work in the association media and publishing industry this year," said Meredith Taylor, executive director, Association Media & Publishing. "These awards showcase the organizations that are producing innovative work in a rapidly changing world."

Randy Nanna, EXCEL Award chair, added, "Recognition by one's industry peers is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talent and ingenuity within the association community."

The award winners will be announced and celebrated at the 37th EXCEL Awards Gala from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on June 26. Award-winning entries will be displayed at the EXCEL Awards Gala and featured in the July/August issue of Signature.
