Starting in 2018, companies must provide investors with a ratio showing how the median pay of their workforce compares with their CEO's compensation. With this requirement looming quickly, there is tremendous discussion around how to best prepare. Karen Macke

Senior Vice President, Compensation, Benefits, & HR Operations | Nationwide Insurance

Karen joined Nationwide in 2012 as the leader of Total Rewards and Associate Solutions. She is a globally recognized compensation and benefits thought leader with over 20 years experience in both Fortune 100 and 500 companies such as General Electric, Coca Cola and Continental Airlines. She came to Nationwide from The Hartford where she most recently served as the Senior Vice President of Total Rewards and HR Operations.

Karen received her MBA, graduating magna cum laude, from the University of Houston with a major in Finance and Marketing. She received her undergraduate degree from Ohio University.

She is an active member of the Compensation Council of the Conference Board, recently serving as a Board member. She is also on the Advisory Board for WorldatWork and a regular contributor to their Executive Compensation Summit. Karen is currently a trustee for the Board of the YWCA Columbus. She has also been published extensively and is a sought after speaker.

Allison Salkeld

General Manager, Executive Compensation | Delta Air Lines

Allison Salkeld serves as the General Manger, Executive Compensation for Delta Air Lines, Inc. In this role she is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation and administration of Delta's global executive compensation programs. Prior to joining Delta in 2012, Allison held positions of increasing responsibly, concentrated in employee & executive compensation and incentive plan design at Office Depot and NextEra Energy, Inc.

Allison's influence and leadership at Delta extend beyond her responsibilities related to executive compensation. She serves as an officer and founding member of GENGAGE, Delta's next generation business resource group and she is a member of the Delta HR Engagement Council. Allison is also an active member of the Junior League of Atlanta and she is humbled to serve as a buddy at Kate's Club of Atlanta, empowering children and teens facing life after the death of a parent or sibling.

Allison is a graduate of Florida State University where she holds a degree in Business Management. She is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

Chris Guzman

Director, Executive Compensation | Darden Restaurants

Chris Guzman is the Director of Executive Compensation at Darden Restaurants, a full-service restaurant company featuring a portfolio of brands that includes Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52, The Capital Grille, Eddie V's and Yard House. In this role, Chris is responsible for executive compensation as well as executive and broad-based equity plans. He joined Darden in 2008 as a Sr. Analyst and has held his current position since 2014.

Prior to joining Darden, Chris was an analyst in the New York office of Pearl Meyer and Partners. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.

Aarti Uppal

Director, Executive Compensation | American Express

Aarti Uppal is the Director, Executive Compensation at American Express in New York City. She specializes in executive compensation strategy, incentive plan design and working with regulatory guidance on incentive plans. She has over 12 years of experience working with various areas within compensation.

Aarti has global experience and started her career in India at a large technology company before she moved over to American Express and worked at the Gurgaon, India office. She has a dual MBA in Marketing and Human Resources and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from India.
